I know this is going to be provocative but I want to give you something to think about. I've seen this meme floating around, actually a couple different ones about how Jesus washed the feet of Judas and broke bread with him, knowing that he would betray him. Or those about how Jesus breaking bread with Judas showed that he loved him. That's true, we all know it is, the dangerous part of that though is that these memes are twisted as they only show a small snapshot of God captured to justify sin and misrepresent the whole truth.
God is love. Jesus is our example. That's truth.
I hope you're ready for this though:
The reality is that Jesus washed the feet of Judas not only knowing that he would betray him, but also knowing that those same feet were going to take him to the field where he would die alone.
Let me say it again,
He knew he would betray him and he also knew he would soon die in his sin and in his unbelief.
Now I want to ask you a question?
Have you ever thought about that?
Have you ever reconciled this to the truth that God is love?
Have you ever thought about the fact that God loves us so much, that he honors our free will so much, that he will let us choose, good or evil, even when he knows it's going to be the end of us?
Now I know all kinds of people have all kinds of songs they sing and ideas they have lately about how Jesus chases us down and how he's never going to let us down, but all that does is make people feel better and prevents them from experiencing the fear of the Lord that we all need. He's done everything already, He's not out there trying to complete the work of salvation by herding sinners towards heaven.
Just another lie in the self centered false gospel of the west.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom so now in all your getting, get some understanding.
Most of the people that post these memes of Jesus washing the feet of Judas or the one of Jesus washing the feet of all these different types of people in lifestyles the word of God clearly calls sin,...... well they're deceived. They're deceived and twisting a snapshot into this idea that every person on the planet is a child of God. That we're all going to heaven, and that God loves us all. I hate to break this to you but that's not true.The truth is: God loved the world so much that He sent His Son, Jesus.
That's all He is going to do, that's way more than we deserved.
Why?
Why did He send His Son?
So you could choose.
Jesus way or your way.
If what I've just said confuses you or upsets you or makes you mad and you think I'm judgmental and critical, that's okay. If people read the Bible more than they listened to the latest youtube sensation, or believed the footnotes in their study Bible, you would see that I'm telling you the truth.
Don't be a Judas, because there just might not be anybody coming to stop you from going to hell. If someone has warned you, I'd listen because Jesus didn't chase down Judas to warn him. Nope, he washed his feet, ate with him, and greeted him in the garden with a kiss, yet He never once stopped him from doing what he was about to do and where that would take him.
I'm here to provoke you to choose Jesus, know Him, know love, know what He taught, know how He lived, submit to Him as Lord, take His yolk upon yourself, and learn from Him.
Judas walked so close to Jesus, but he wasn't with Jesus.
Don't be Judas.
