Trust the Lord

Life has a way of distracting us and keeping us away from the moments that God gives us. One issue leads to another issue and the urgent things keep demanding our attention so that the most important things are left to later. We end up in 'survival mode' where we just get through the day and sometimes wish the time away. We can even get to the point that we say when we are done with "this" then we will start enjoying life. I have always been a visionary person by nature. I have been involved in ministry and the things that concern God's kingdom and have become increasingly aware of the eternal dimension. Recently as we have faced our own challenges as a family, I have begun to see that life is not only about tomorrow, but it is more about today and what God wants to do today. - Living one day at a time isn't always easy, but it's what God has told us to do. It is His recipe for our lives. It's a life defined by faith. Many people live in a day and time that has not yet arrived. They live worried about tomorrow or the future and in the process they miss the moment they have in front of them. We should consciously keep our focus on the day we do have. We should live today as if it was our last day. Matthew 6:34 says; "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Matthew 6:25 says; "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?"

Luke 10:41 says; 'Martha, Martha,’ the Lord answered, ‘you are worried and upset about many things!’

Don’t live worried and upset about "many things." Be present in the moment. Do the best you can to Honor and love God and then honor and love others in whatever situations you find yourself in presently in today. Live in the present and not in the past or in the future. Be present in the present. Living in the past leads to regret and living in the future leads to fear. Living in the moment is the key to finding fulfillment. I'll leave you with this scripture from the book of Hebrews chapter 3:12-15;

"So search your hearts every day, my brothers and sisters, and make sure that none of you has evil or unbelief hiding within you. For it will lead you astray, and make you unresponsive to the living God. This is the time to encourage each other to never be stubborn or hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. For we are mingled with the Christ, if we will continue unshaken in this confident assurance from the beginning until the end. For again, the Scriptures say,

If only you would listen to His voice today. Don’t make him angry by hardening your hearts, as you did in the wilderness rebellion."

Obedience to the Lord's voice one day at a time will leave a wake of peace behind you and a path of righteousness before you but it all starts with what you're doing right here, and right now.
